Bennet Kelley has been active in many of the hottest Internet issues over the past decade, having counseled clients, litigated, testified, lobbied, offered seminars and written commentaries on issues such as Behavioral Targeting, Cyber Abuse, Domain Name Disputes, E-Commerce, Internet Marketing, Net Neutrality, Online Promotions, Online Gambling, Privacy, Spam and Spyware.  He currently is Co-Chair of the California Bar Cyberspace Committee  and speaks on internet law developments weekly on Webmaster Radio's Inboxed program.

Bennet launched the Internet Law Center in 2007 after four years with ValueClick, where he was Assistant General Counsel, Director of Governmental Affairs & Privacy for the online advertising company.  Prior to joining ValueClick, Bennet was Vice President of Legal & Strategic Affairs for Hi-Speed Media, Inc., an online marketing and e-commerce company, where he led the effort to sell the company to ValueClick.  Bennet also served as General Counsel of ETM Entertainment Network, which was the second largest live event ticketing company in the U.S.; and as Vice President of Business, Legal and Governmental Affairs for Network Commerce, an internet technology infrastructure and services company, where he also was division counsel for its SpeedyClick.com division.  

Not only does Bennet have a decade of experience representing Internet companies, but he also has played a leading role in shaping Internet law and policy. Bennet testified before the California Senate Business & Professions Committee on its landmark 2003 spam legislation and was praised by the House Energy & Commerce Committee for his contributions to federal spyware legislation. Bennet launched an initiative through the California Bar Cyberspace Committee to develop a cyberspace primer for incoming state legislators.

Bennet began his legal career with Howrey & Simon, one of the nation's premier antitrust, intellectual property and litigation firms.  Bennet earned a B.S. in Political Science with honors from The American University and graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center. 

Prior to starting his legal career, Bennet worked as a Legislative Assistant for Wright Andrews, one of Washington's leading lobbyists, on financial services, nuclear waste and privacy legislation among other issues. He has extensive political experience that includes serving as National Co-Chair of the Democratic National Committee's Saxophone Club (its young professional fundraising and outreach arm) during the Clinton era and being an award winning political columnist.

Brian Benenhaley  became Of Counsel to the Internet Law Center in 2009 and works out of our South Carolina office.  Brian is a proven lawyer and entrepreneur having been a co-founder of SubscriberBASE and the AdDrive Affiliate Network.   His vast business and legal experience in the field covers a myriad of issues including raising capital, corporate structures, complex litigation, regulatory compliance, and affiliate policing and management.

Brian also has been on the front line for many emerging issues impacting internet marketing, including landmark litigation under California's spam statute.
