Bennet founded the Internet Law Center in 2007 after working in-house with technology, e-commerce, and internet advertising companies such as ETM Entertainment Network, Network Commerce and ValueClick for nearly a decade.
He has been named as among the nation's top internet lawyers by several publications including the Los Angeles Business Journal which named him one of the Most Influential Lawyers in Digital Media and E-Commerce. He frequently appears or is quoted in television, radio and print stories on internet legal developments, including appearing on The Today Show.
Bennet is a past Co-Chair of the California Lawyers' Association's Cyberspace Committee where he led the effort to develop a primer on cyberspace law for state policymakers. He also led the Technology, Internet and Privacy subcommittee of CLA's Intellectual Property Section from 2016-2019.
Bennet is a frequent presenter at conferences worldwide and has been a contributor to the Journal of Internet Law and E-Commerce Law and Policy. He also is the publisher of the firm's newsletter and blog, Cyber Report, which was named top newsletter by the Los Angeles Press Club in 2011.
In 2012, he was selected by the U.S. Department of Commerce to be part of the U.S. delegation and present on e-commerce law at the 17th U.S.-China Legal Exchange. The prior year he was part of a delegation of a dozen North American internet experts who met with leading Chinese netizens to promote greater freedom within China.
In 2019, Bennet was one of a handful of lawyers, academics, prosecutors, law enforcement and judicial personnel invited to work with the Department of Justice on addressing ways to combat technologically enabled harassment.
Bennet was also the creator and host of Cyber Law and Business Report which aired on WebmasterRadio.fm from 2011-2019 and was nominated for a Los Angeles Press Club award.

The Scalable Startup
Tom is the founder of the Scalable Startup which was launched to help tech startups GROW - through Mentoring, Funding, Strategy Consulting, Teaching Entrepreneurship and building Digital Business Systems on the Web. Tom also publishes The Startup CEO.
Since 2013, Tom has teamed with the Internet Law Center to provide consulting services to its startup clients from assisting in fundraising to mentoring.
Michael has practiced business and intellectual property law for more than 20 years, focusing on securing and expanding clients' key IP assets to help grow and monetize their businesses. He works with clients to take preventive steps using not only copyrights, trademarks, and patents but also emphasizes care in contracts and thorough diligence when choosing potential partners. His clients have ranged from startups to industry leaders and from Hollywood hopefuls to A-listers, as well as government agencies and international initiatives. He also serves as an outside expert in technology litigation, particularly where IP, contract, and technology issues intertwine (e.g., suits over flawed IT systems, and over software ownership).
Michael has served on various startup and non-profit boards including the Caltech Entrepreneurs Forum. His writings have included contract guides, tech transfer analysis, and periodic contributions to the LA Times' "Associations" column.
With degrees in mathematics and law, Michael spent 15 years on the MIT Mathematics and UCLA Computer Science faculties and as a Fulbright Scholar prior to practicing law. This background catalyzed his involvement in key areas as they emerged, including the Internet itself, public key encryption, open-source software, and Internet governance. Michael spent 16 years as Of Counsel to the Los Angeles trial/litigation boutique Willenken Wilson Loh & Delgado prior to joining the Internet Law Center.

Raun joined Internet Law Center in 2010. She combines in-house internet and technology experience with over twenty years of legal experience. Her experience includes trademark prosecution, trademark maintenance, and file management, copyrighting and website IP protection.
